Surrounded by friends and family, Emilie Clayton has hit it big as the randomly selected winner of Hankook’s “Great Hit” giveaway.

Clayton, from Wapato, Wash., was recently presented with the keys to a 2012 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 sedan by Soo Il Lee, president of Hankook Tire America Corp.

The sweepstakes event, held at Warren Secord Tire Factory in Kent, Wash., one of Hankook’s retailers, was certainly a family affair: To accept the car, the mother of three brought along her husband, two of her children, her parents plus her aunt and uncle.

“We’re excited about this prize; so grateful and thankful…our experience with Hankook has been amazing, and we definitely plan to buy Hankook tires in the future,” Clayton says.

Clayton, who does not typically enter many contests, notes that given this win, she may now be entering more of them. She was chosen through a random drawing of more than 44,000 entries.

The ongoing rebate and giveaways have been well received by the public and have contributed to the company’s overall success in the American market, according to Lee.

“With the Hankook brand in the U.S. growing every day, our mail-in rebate promotions generate excitement for consumers as well as our dealers,” he says.

The “Great Hit” Mail-in Rebate program was opento customers who purchased four select tires of any size between Sept. 2011 and Nov. 30, offering them up to $80 off their purchase.

The tires included in the rebate program were the Ultra-High Performance Ventus V12 evo, the Luxury Performance Touring All-Season Optimo H426 and the Performance Touring All-Season Optimo H727. No purchase was necessary to enter the conest.

The company will continue the program this year with a spring promotion starting on April 1 and running through June 30. Details will be announced later.
