Titan has a netted a three-year contract to supply original equipment OTR tires to Caterpillar.
The transaction is worth more than $100 million, according to Maurice Taylor, chairman and CEO of Titan International.
Taylor also reports that William Campbell, who has been president of the Titan tire division for the past 12 years, has been promoted to chairman of the unit and executive vice president of parent firm Titan International.
Campbell will be working with Taylor “on all recent and future acquisitions.”
Steve Briggs, who had been executive vice president under Campbell, will take over as Titan Tire’s president, where he will be concentrating on a team of managers at tire plants in Des Moines, Iowa; Freeport, Ill.; and Bryan, Ohio.
“The percentage growth of these three factories will be mid-double digits in 2012,” says Taylor. “Briggs will be very engaged in the progress at these plants.”

Prior to joining Titan, Briggs was vice president and general manager of Pierce Manufacturing, a division of Oshkosh. He was previously president and CEO of ROM Corp. Both of his former firms are involved in manufacturing products for the military market.
Briggs was in the service for more than a decade and he has a Masters degree from the University of Missouri.
“Titan appreciates the hard work from these gentlemen and looks forward to their leadership roles in the company in the future,” Taylor points out.
