According to the Jeremy Carroll Foundation, the award is given annually to a company or individual who has “kept Jeremy’s indomitable spirit alive by supporting the fight against muscle diseases.”
For the past two years CJ’s has donated to the MDA, and the chain is also an ongoing supporter of breast cancer research, local youth athletics, Toys for Tots and UNICEF.
“We are truly honored to be receiving this award,” says CJ’s owner Paul Levengood. “We are very thankful to our customers, vendors and employees for their team effort in our fundraising initiatives.”
A “Black and Blue Ball” honors ceremony held earlier this month brought in more than $90,000 in donations to benefit the local MDA chapter and area families affected by neuromuscular disease.
Headquartered in Birdsboro, Pa., the family owned CJ’s has 12 retail locations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. The company is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. For more information, visit www.cjtire.com.
