More than 1,000 transportation officials are showcasing their materials, technology and professional services at the event.
“Municipalities across the country are constantly facing shrinking budgets and are looking for ways to trim costs while still maintaining proper treatment of their roads,” says CEO Jeff Kendall.
“At Liberty Tire Recycling, we are pleased to have a presence at SASHTO to demonstrate how rubberized asphalt offers value to cities and towns,” he adds. “It is an eco-friendly, cost-effective alternative to traditional paving material.”
Liberty is helping to make many of the nation’s highways and roadways safer and more durable through the creation of rubberized asphalt, according to Kendall.
The company provides crumb rubber to a host of municipalities and states. Paving contractors then mix the crumb rubber with traditional asphalt to produce a high-performance alternative to traditional paving materials.“Rubberized asphalt resists cracking and rutting, it improves skid resistance and it makes for a quieter ride,” Kendall says. “It also decreases maintenance costs and provides an outlet for scrap tires that may have otherwise ended up in a landfill.”
