Accuride Corp. has acquired substantially all of the
assets of Forgitron Technologies, LCC, which
includes an 80,000-square-foot forged aluminum wheel
plant in Camden, S.C.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The company plans to convert the factory to produce
Accuride-branded wheels for the commercial vehicle
market.
“This acquisition strengthens our core product
offering by increasing our aluminum wheel capacity,
giving us a close-to-customer production presence in
the Southeast, and affording greater flexibility to
balance production between three aluminum wheel
plants,” says Rick Dauch, president and CEO.
“These significant benefits underscore our
commitment to maximize production efficiency and
offer high-value quality products to our customers,
while generating stronger financial returns for our
shareholders,” he says.
The addition of the plant will augment efforts
already underway to increase capacity at its Erie,
Pa. facility and introduce aluminum wheel production
at its Monterrey, Mexico factory.

The company plans to cease production in Camden for
about 30 days to convert production to its own line
and to integrate with existing Accuride
manufacturing systems and controls along with its
customer order management and sales programs.
“We look forward to working with the Camden team
members as we begin the integration process,” Dauch
says.
In addition to wheels Accuride’s products include
wheel-end components and assemblies, truck body and
chassis parts and other commercial vehicle
components marketed under the Accuride, Gunite,
Imperial, Fabco, Brillion and Highway Original
brands.
