Toyo is increasing its sponsorship of college sports for 2011,
having supported Pac-10 men's basketball on Fox Sports Net
(FSN), the John R. Wooden Classic and the Hardwood Series –
which features match-ups between Pac-10 and Big 12
schools.
These efforts are being expanded across the country and into
football, thanks to a larger sponsorship package with FSN and a
new partnership with Big Ten Sports Properties on behalf of the
conference.
In total, the Toyo name will be seen during 144 basketball and
football games covering the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC),
the Big 12 Conference, the Big Ten Conference, Pac-10 and the
Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Games include the Pac-10 men’s basketball tournament, the Big
Ten Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments and the Big Ten
Football Championship Game.
In-game features during national broadcasts, signage at select
venues and in-arena promotions will help build brand awareness
among fans at home and in the stands. The brand name will also
be visible during the Big Ten College Football Wrap-up Show on
the Big Ten Network and in display ads on the official Pac-10
website.
For the opportunity to reach fans one-on-one, Toyo will have
displays at eight football games across the country, including
Penn State vs. Indiana State on Sept. 3, and the Big Ten
Football Championship Game.
The Toyo models, tires, vehicles and giveaway items will make
the displays a popular stop among tailgaters, according to Stan
Chen, manager of events and motorsports.

Off the field of play, the company is continuing its support of
the “Pac-10 Scholar Athlete Award presented by Toyo Tires.” It
recognizes an athlete in each of the Pac-10’s 22 sports who has
maintained a high grade point average.
The Scholar-Athlete of the Year receives a commemorative
plaque, and $1,000 is donated to the scholarship fund of his or
her institution.
“We are excited to have such a great presence in 2011 college
athletics,” says Chen. “The Toyo Tires brand will reach a
broader market nationwide and we will be supporting our dealers
across America.”
