Cooper has been honored with the Global Media Award at the
Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.
More than 2,000 new products were registered at the event,
with a judging panel of 26 journalists from 16 countries
choosing a select few products based on their potential
impact and commercial success.
The Discoverer S/TMAXX tire, launching in February, was
selected because of its all-terrain performance
capabilities, according to the company.
“We’re very proud to be recognized for our innovation on a
global scale,” says Steve Sawyer, Cooper’s director of brand
and product management. “We strive to meet the demands and
needs for our customers worldwide, not just in the U.S., so
we’re incredibly thrilled with the reception we've received
for the new Discoverer S/TMAXX.”
The new release will replace the Discoverer S/T-C and
selected sizes of the Discoverer S/T. The S/TMAXX will
feature “proven and reliable” three-ply Armor-Tek3 carcass
construction, a new proprietary cut and chip resistant tread
compound and a progressive tread design.
“With this combination, the S/T MAXX is destined to be a
true commercial grade traction tire that will perform in the
toughest terrains,” Sawyer says. “This tire provides ‘maxx’
toughness and traction with no compromises.”
It will be available in eight sizes ranging from 16- to 18-
inch rim diameters.
Since 2004, the SEMA Global Media Awards Program has been a
staple of the SEMA Show. Bringing together journalists from
around the world, the purpose is to identify and discover
what new products are likely to succeed in their home
countries. Participating in the judging panel are the
industry’s top magazines with editors who have an extensive
knowledge base and expertise of the automotive
market.
