With competition among tire dealers and service station owners being tougher than ever, employing 'green' concepts can make all the difference, according to the Tire Industry Association (TIA).
"Many tire and service station dealers don't realize how embracing ‘green' practices can positively benefit their operation, and that's where the TIA Environmental Symposium can help," says TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield, referring to the Sept. 30-Oct. 2 event in Ocean City, Md.
Sierra Piedmont CEO Scott Pate and client program manager Debbie Strawhand will be presenting a session called "Environmental Best Practices for the Tire and Service Station Dealer."
The pair will discuss environmental best management practices drawn from their experiences of serving thousands of retail automotive facilities over the past 15 years.Sierra offers environmental consulting, site assessments, compliance and remediation.
"Tire and service station dealers have a unique opportunity to hear from experts on how to make ‘going green' into the competitive differentiator they're looking for," says Dick Gust, co-chair of the TIA Environmental Advisory Council (EAC). "Opportunities to hear from world-class experts like Scott Pate and Debbie Strawhand are not frequently available, and that's why if you are a tire or service station dealer, you should be at the TIA Environmental Symposium."
