What's holding you back from producing greater results for your tire business? That's the question being raised by Dave Vogel, sales director for industry software provider ASA Tire Systems. He will be conducting a free seminar on "Technology in the Workplace" from 7-8:30 a.m. on Wed., Sept. 22 at the International Tire Exposition & Conference (ITEC) at Cleveland's I-X Center. (The facility's doors open at 6:30 a.m.)
"Operating with outdated technology could be sending the message that you are not progressive and that customer service is not your priority," he says.
"This is a dangerous position to be in if your competitors embrace new technology before you do. Savvy business owners recognize the need to stay a step ahead of the competition with the latest software technology," says Vogel, noting that the session will not be a "sales pitch," but rather a program dedicated to educating you about how new technology can help your business become more profitable.
"Now more than ever, consumers turn to technology to get organized and operate more efficiently. As a result, they have become more demanding and expect the businesses they shop with to keep pace," he points out.
The seminar will "explore how industry-specific software programs can be as indispensable to the operation of your tire business as compressors, lifts and tire machines," according to Vogel, who has spent more than 20 years in the tire/automotive repair industry.
He began his career with Goodyear, advancing through the ranks by managing individual stores, supervising groups of stores and working as a territory manager for dozens of independent tire dealers. Vogel spent several years as an independent tire dealer himself, operating both retail and commercial tire centers before joining ASA.
As a sales director for the company, he has worked with hundreds of tire dealers around the country, implementing and improving their software systems and business operations. Having witnessed first-hand the profit and efficiency improvements that computer technology has brought to tire businesses, his presentation will be from a tire dealer's point of view, using terminology and scenarios common to the industry. For more information, visit www.asatire.com/ITEC/seminar and itec- tireshow.com.
