Seung Hwa Suh, vice chairman and CEO of Hankook Tire, will address managers, engineers, researchers and other members of the tire industry during a keynote speech at the 29th annual Tire Society Conference on Sept. 20, in Fairlawn, Ohio.
Suh will be discussing the current opportunities and challenges facing the tire industry and ways to improve and adapt technologies for a changing market.
The tire industry landscape continues to change, and manufacturers are faced with growing demands for increased fuel economy and advanced rolling resistance technologies for original equipment and aftermarket products alike, according to Suh.
"In addition, the cry for environmentally friendly products and practices continues to increase – most recently with demands for new materials that reduce or eliminate the use of petroleum and CO2 emissions."
Suh will discuss these trends and "how today's engineers and chemists can work together to change – and improve – the very foundation of tire industry."The Tire Society, Inc. is an Ohio-based non-profit organization with worldwide membership and a charter "to increase and disseminate knowledge as it pertains to the science and technology of tires."
