Freestyle MX rider and Baja racer Jeff “Ox” Kargola, in his first foray into off-road competition, will debut General’s new Grabber street tire in the Superlite class during the Aug. 7-8 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series weekend at California’s Glen Helen Raceway.
“Ox is one of the personalities featured in our Grabber advertising, and we are excited to see him race on the same tires he uses on his Toyota Tundra,” says Dana Zamalloa, public relations manager. “We were impressed with his performance during the testing of the tire on the Superlite trucks, and I am confident he will do well at Glen Helen.”
“Our new General Grabber is the perfect tire for off-road enthusiasts who take their trucks on- and off-road,” according to marketing director Travis Roffler. “It’s specially engineered to take on the rigors of off-road competition, while still maintaining road manners and a comfortable ride.”
It features three-ply, reinforced-body construction and a chip- and tear-resistant Duragen tread compound with ultra-high strength steel belts. “The steel belts in one Grabber tire are strong enough to lift a trophy truck,” Roffler reports, “and the ultra-durable micro-fiber three-ply casing makes the Grabber the strongest General tire ever produced.”
