Team Toyo has gained three new drivers, Aaron Daugherty, Lucas Oil Off-Road Series Pro Lite Unlimited; Damen Jefferies, SCORE (Southern California Off-Road Enthusiasts) International Trophy Truck; and Ian Baker, a SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) ProSolo champion pilot.
Daugherty drives the Daugherty Racing 2009 Ford Ranger equipped with Open Country M/T tires. Powered by a 2.3-liter four cylinder engine, his truck competes in short course off-road racing.
With the inclusion of Daugherty, Team Toyo now has drivers competing in all of the pro ranks in the truck classes, including Pro 2 Unlimited and Pro 4 Unlimited.
Jefferies pilots the No. 22 Jefferies Racing K&N Filters Chevrolet Silverado Trophy Truck equipped with Open Country M/T-R tires. With a 735-horsepower Chevy race engine, it is a past-champion in the SCORE International and Best In The Desert series.
On the SCCA pavement, Baker won the 2009 ProSolo Finale in the STS (Street Touring S) class with his 1989 Honda CRX Si. For the 2010 season, he competes in both the ProSolo National Series and the Solo National Tour on Proxes R1R extreme performance tires.
“We are excited to have Aaron Daugherty, Damen Jefferies and Ian Baker join Team Toyo,” says Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports. “They are accomplished drivers in their sports and their presence will further strengthen the visibility of the Toyo Tires brand in the light-truck and sports car segments.”
