Roy V. Armes, chairman, president and CEO at Cooper Tire, has been appointed to the board of directors at the Manitowoc Co., a producer of construction industry lifting equipment such as lattice-boom cranes, tower cranes, mobile telescopic cranes and boom trucks.

“Roy is a highly regarded CEO whose vast knowledge and global manufacturing experience makes him an excellent fit for our board,” says Glen E. Tellock, Manitowoc’s chairman and CEO. “We anticipate that he will make immediate contributions and be an extremely valuable contributor as we continue to execute on our strategic priorities.”

Prior to joining Cooper in January of 2007, Armes, 57, served in a variety of domestic and international leadership positions at Whirlpool Corp. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo in Ohio.
