Ecolab has unveiled a Blue Coral 1-Step Wheel Cleaner targeted at the automated car wash market and reformulated its related Black Magic Tire Dressing.
“Current research indicates consumers gauge the quality of their car washes by how shiny their tires look and if wheels are thoroughly cleaned,” says Julie Moore, vice president and general manager of the company’s vehicle care division.
“Our two new products, supported by our service and training on industry best practices, are aimed at delivering that superior-looking tire that will ‘wow’ the car wash consumer and help drive repeat business for car wash operators,” she explains.
The Blue Coral release is a foaming alkaline solution that clings to wheels to ensure a thorough cleaning, according to Moore, and is effective on all types of regional soils.
A reformulated Black Magic delivers “a more durable, uniform and heightened glossy shine,” she says. The water-based, quick-dry formula is “designed for the automated carwash environment” and functions with all of the industry’s existing tire dressing application equipment.
Both products are VOC-compliant throughout North America, reports Moore, and “free of controversial ingredients such as phosphate, NPE Surfactants and APE surfactants – which are of concern to some customers.”
