Brian Hesje, chairman of the board at Fountain Tire, is the latest addition to the Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) new Environmental Advisory Council (EAC).

Fountain is one of Canada’s largest tire retail chains with 140 stores from Ontario to British Columbia. Hesje was previously the company’s CEO, and he currently serves on the board of directors for the Alberta Recycling Management Authority.

“Brian’s impressive history in the tire industry – and, specifically, the retail tire sector – has given him a unique insight into the issues facing tire recycling,” says TIA President Wayne Croswell. “He is a leader in Canadian tire recycling, and TIA is indeed fortunate to be able to add him to our impressive roster of Environmental Advisory Committee members.”

The EAC has been established to provide strategic information, advisory services, educational programs and governmental assistance for creating environmental awareness throughout the tire industry.

Its first meeting is set for March 31 at TIA headquarters in Bowie, Md.
