Toyo is set to cover the 2010 Dakar off-road rally from the front seat — or at least the trunk — of an H3 racer. For the third year, the tire company’s Ramses Perez is blogging, shooting video and taking photographs while riding with driver Robby Gordon.
“Check it out for an inside look at the preparation and planning as Team Dakar leaves for Argentina,” suggests spokesman Jay Jones.
From Jan. 2-16, “Gordon will traverse some of the world’s highest sand dunes and mountains while racing through Argentina and Chile with one thing on his mind: Victory,” according to Jones.
At 2009’s race, Gordon took third place overall and finished first in his class.
Originally run through Europe and Africa, the Dakar returns to South America for the second time with a course that covers 5,592 miles in 14 stages.
“This is an incredible, international event,” says Jones. “It’s wild and fun, beautiful and dangerous, and you can be in the middle of it with Toyo Tires. We look forward to having you with us for the adventure.”
