General is saluting a pair of its sponsored drivers, Mike Childress and Robert Pickering, who prevailed through a punishing, rocky course to take the Class 7 win at the Aug. 8 KC HiLites Midnight Special in Ridgecrest, Calif.

The Southern Nevada Off-Road Enthusiasts (SNORE) night race covered a grueling 220 miles encompassing more than 40 laps.

“Mikey and Robert put on a great show for the fans representing General Tires,” says Tony Talbert, the company’s light truck tires product manager. “They lapped the whole class and finished 10th overall in a really awesome showing. We are very proud of their effort in this event.”

Childress drove first three laps before turning it over to Pickering, the vehicle’s owner, with a 50-minute lead.
