Goodyear’s new fuel-efficient tire, the Assurance Fuel Max, has been selected as an original equipment fitment for the 2010 Ford Fusion S.
Ford says the mid-sized sedan provides best-in-class fuel efficiency through its six-speed transmission and 2.5-liter engine along with “balanced ride and handling” characteristics.
The car is currently in production and arriving at Ford dealerships equipped with the Fuel Max tires in size P205/60R16.
The tire features a fuel-saving tread compound that helps reduce energy loss as the tire rolls, according to Goodyear executives, who also point to Wet and Dry Tread Zones that enhance all season traction: “The Wet Tread Zone features dual Aquachannel grooves to help evacuate water away from the treadface when driving on wet roads,” the explain. “The Dry Tread Zone helps enhance handling and grip for confident maneuvering on dry pavement.”
The company’s tires are also original equipment on models from Acura, Audi, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, GMC, Hummer, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jeep, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercury, Nissan and Toyota.
In addition to its OE applications, the Fuel Max is available as a replacement tire for numerous vehicles.
