General Motors has selected BFGoodrich’s latest Radial T/A SPEC tire to compliment factory fitments on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.
The new Camaro lines are to hit the streets this month with a V8-powered SS model plus two sporty V6 LS and LT editions. The 304-horsepower LS will feature the SPEC in size P245/55R18.
“We design and manufacture some of the most well-known and sought-after performance tires for use on- and off-road, as well as on the race course, and we are excited to combine our proud legacy and racing heritage with such an iconic car as the Chevrolet Camaro,” says Goodrich category manager Duane Thomas.
The chosen tire “combines classic black sidewall graphics and advanced technology to highlight the heritage-inspired design and contemporary performance of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro,” he reports, adding that an extremely wide tread profile with large reinforced tread block elements will enable “Camaro drivers to get the most out of their vehicle’s handling.”
Also, he notes that the company’s tread compounding and variable groove angle geometry provide wet traction and control while maintaining dry traction and a long treadlife.
