Goodyear and the Tredit Tire & Wheel Co., Inc. have signed an additional two- year contract for the supply of Goodyear trailer tires to original equipment trailer manufacturers. The latest transaction is a two-year extension of a supply agreement originally signed in 2005 by the two companies.

Goodyear will supply its Marathon ST tires, which range in size from 13- to 16-inch rim diameters. The Marathons are used on light- and medium-duty trailers, which include recreational vehicle, cargo, horse and boat trailers.

Most trailer tires are delivered to OE trailer producers as part of a tire-and-wheel assembly, relieving the trailer manufacturers of the burden of ordering tires, rims and valves, maintaining inventories, mounting and inflating. Tredit performs these functions and delivers completed assemblies on a just-in-time basis.

Tredit, founded in 1967 and headquartered in Elkhart, Ind., has eight locations nationwide.

Goodyear sells replacement tires for trailers through its nationwide retailer network.
