With the popularity of its tires growing, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is adding new sizes that fit more pickups and SUVs. This includes additional sizes for the award-winning Goodyear Wrangler and Fortera lines. The Wrangler SilentArmor, a premium on- and off-road tire with a layer made with DuPont Kevlar, gets six new sizes: P235/75R16, P265/65R17, P285/70R17, P245/75R17, P265/65R18 and P265/70R18. The Wrangler MT/R, long recognized as a rugged off-road tire with exclusive Durawall Technology for enhanced sidewall toughness, continues as a popular choice among off-road enthusiasts. Four new sizes – 255/55R19, LT265/70R17, LT245/75R17 and LT275/65R18 – are added for this fall, according to the manufacturer. Two new sizes are added to Fortera TripleTred: 235/55R18 and P265/60R18. The Fortera TripleTred features three innovative tread zones for traction in any weather – rain, ice or dry. Eight new sizes are in line for the Fortera SilentArmor, which offers the toughness of DuPont Kevlar and a smooth, comfortable ride. New sizes include P225/70R16, 225/65R17, P255/70R18, P235/65R18, P265/65R18, P235/60R18, 235/55R18 and 255/55R18, and are especially targeted toward crossover vehicles, the company states. According to Melissa Montisano, Goodyear’s general marketing manager for light-truck tires, the expanded size offerings in many different tire lines represent an effort to provide the tires demanded by today’s drivers. “These new sizes are our commitment to Goodyear retailers and consumers. They have embraced our popular tires, and this action helps them to enjoy the product benefits on more potential vehicles,” Montisano said.
