The Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) has teamed up with the National Auto Body Council's (NABC) 2010 Recycled Rides project to offer participating shops a grant towards their titling fees for the donor vehicle. Each grant in the amount of up to $100 per car will help to offset the costs associated with transferring the title between the donor and the recipient.

A total of $10,000 – or 100 cars – of funding is now available for this industry effort.

"Repairers work very hard on these Recycled Rides vehicles so that the recipients have a reliable mode of transportation," says Jeanne Silver, co-owner of CARSTAR Mundelein and Chair of CIF. "We saw a gap in the title transferring process from the donor of the vehicle to the recipient, and felt this was a great way for the CIF to step in and fill this need."

"This generous gift will help make the gifting process that much easier," adds 2010 Recycled Rides Chair Nick Notte from Sterling Autobody Centers. He continued by saying, "This allows the shop to focus on repairing the vehicles and promoting their Ride-Away Day event.  We are very grateful to this assistance from the CIF."

Those repairers who are participating in the NABC's Recycled Rides project will have access to the grant information from the NABC Administrative Office. For more information, call (888) 667-7433 or visit www.autobodycouncil.org.
