April 6, 2011 — The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) is accepting applications for several scholarships for automotive service professionals.

Available now for members of the collision repair industry are the following:

  •  Automotive Video, Inc. (AVI) Education Scholarship. AVI, which provides diagnostic and repair training programs, is funding this scholarship with proceeds from a Casino Night fundraiser. The $1,000 scholarship will help fund the recipients’ expenses to attend the 2011 CARS event in Orlando, Fla.
  •  Emil Stanley Merit Award. This annual award recognizes an individual who works in an Automotive Service Association (ASA) member business, specifically in collision repair. The $1,000 scholarship will be put toward the recipient’s expenses to attend the 2011 NACE event in Orlando, Fla.
  •  BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a collision repairer who works in, or strives to work in, a management position at an ASA member shop. The $1,000 will be put toward the recipient’s expenses to attend this year’s NACE event.
  •  Richard Cossette/Gale Westerlund Memorial Scholarship. Offered in conjunction with the ASA, this $1,000 scholarship honors the contributions Cossette and Westerlund made to AMI, the ASA and the collision repair industry. Only collision repairers are eligible. The scholarship will be put toward expenses to attend NACE this year.

All applications are due August 15. For specific application requirements, go to amionline.org.
