Website launches to connect body shops with PDR techs

March 8, 2012

March 8, 2012—TopTech Finder, an online search engine that connects automotive repairers with paintless dent repair (PDR) technicians, launched this week.

TopTech Finder was developed to help body shops easily connect with reputable PDR technicians to fix hail-damaged vehicles. Repairers can post their PDR jobs on the website, toptechfinder.com, for free. Then they’re able to search for technicians and view online profiles before hiring a technician for the job. The profiles highlight all of a particular technician’s qualifications, including experience, training, certifications and association affiliations. PDR technicians also have the ability to search and apply for posted jobs directly, according to TopTech Finder.

“When hail storms hit, a shop’s regular PDR resources are often overwhelmed with work. Shops are then forced to choose from techs who arrive at their door, without any knowledge of the tech’s reputation, quality of work, experience, or training,” said Jeff Herman, CEO of TopTech Finder. “Shops have told me horror stories about handing that first customer car over to an unknown tech. TopTech Finder solves this problem by letting repairers investigate techs before they hire them.”

Herman said TopTech Finder provides transparency around technician reputations in the industry to encourage quality work and professionalism. Repairers are able to review technicians after the completion of jobs through a five star system on the website. The reviews remain on technicians’ profiles for future repairers to see before hiring.

TopTech Finder said it charges 10 percent of the PDR job as a referral fee when a technician provides services for a repairer. The organization is waiving all fees for jobs posted in March to support shops that were recently hit by storms in the Southeast and Midwest regions of the country.

“We expected the hail season to begin in March, but no one predicted the tragic storms that hit last week. We want to help in our own way by offering free services to those impacted,” Herman said.

Body shops, PDR businesses, hail teams and other repairers can visit toptechfinder.com to create their free account or for more information.
