July 27, 2010—More than 1.4 million online exams were administered through the Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair’s (CCAR) e-learning program during the 2009-10 school year.
The S/P2 Safety and Pollution Prevention program is an online training course designed to address pollution and safety issues within the automotive industry. The curriculum is based on standards set by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which require that all workers to receive this type of training at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
“Our thanks go to all the automotive instructors who allow CCAR to work with their students, as our S/P2 school testing numbers continue to grow each year,” said Daren Fristoe, CCAR president and chief operating officer. “We know that by raising the awareness among students of the best environmental and safety practices, we can have a positive future impact on the auto repair industry, measured by reduced costs and extended careers.”
