August 10, 2010—Larry Silvey has been named editorial director emeritus of Advanstar Automotive Group and Michael Willins, the company’s web director, will assume Silvey’s responsibilities as editorial director, according to Aftermarket Business.

Silvey was the organization’s long-time editorial director and recently took a position as chairman of the automotive aftermarket management program at Northwood University in Midland, Mich. Silvey will continue in his new position with Advanstar Automotive Group by writing a monthly column on aftermarket topics and as part of the editorial advisory board. Willins is the former editor-in-chief of Automotive Body Repair News (ABRN) and former senior editor of Aftermarket Business.

“I want to congratulate Larry on his new position at our industry's leading aftermarket educational institution. Northwood University is fortunate to hire someone with such a comprehensive knowledge of our industry,” said Jim Savas, vice president and general manager of Advanstar’s Automotive Group. “Larry has been a valued member of our editorial team for many years and we are thrilled that he has agreed to continue writing for us and to be a part of our editorial advisory board.”
