Aug. 2, 2011 — Thanks to the Collision Repair Education Foundation, Lake Technical Center of Eustis, Fla., will be getting a “mini-makeover.” In vocational school terms, that means getting new and improved equipment to enhance their collision repair education experience.

The school will present their new look at the International Autobody Congress & Exposition from 1-2 p.m. on Oct. 6 in the ASRW Media Center in the Orange County Convention Center’s West Building.

“Giving back to the collision repair industry is a major focus of NACE each year and we’re happy to ‘pay it forward’ and provide a forum for such a worthwhile event,” said Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. “We look forward to hosting this deserving school and celebrating the generosity of the industry.”

Lake Technical Center was the only school in Florida to apply for the Ultimate Collision Makeover grant and due to its proximity to NACE in Orlando, the Education Foundation has been able to gather supporters and donors to complete portions of the school’s $50,000 wish list, thus a “mini” makeover.

“As our school budget continues to be cut it is amazing to see business and industry step up to ensure that our students learn in the best environment possible. We couldn’t do it without you,” said Lake Technical Center Director Diane W. Culpepper.

Schools can apply for a mini-makeover by visiting the Education Foundation’s website at collisioneducationfoundation.org. Applications must be postmarked by Aug. 31.
