Audatex launches repair-tracking product

Sept. 27, 2011

Sept. 27, 2011—Audatex North America Inc. on Tuesday announced the launch of Audatex Repair Status, a Web-based product that allows insurance companies to track and manage vehicle repairs with collision repair facilities, and automate communications with vehicle owners.

The software uses data-pump technology to extract repair status information from existing body shop management systems, without disrupting a shop’s repair management processes or requiring additional data entry. The repair information is combined with assignment, estimate and rental data to provide vehicle repair stakeholders—including insurance companies, collision repair shops and vehicle owners—with data for information transparency, according to Audatex.

"This solution has been developed with extensive input from our customer base and is fully integrated with our estimating and business analytics solutions," said Neal Lowell, director of product management for Audatex. "One of our main goals with Repair Status was to combine leading-edge technology with an exceptional user interface in a platform that delivers significant value to all parties involved—without requiring repair shops to change their repair management processes or incur any business disruptions.”

Audatex Repair Status also includes configurable alarms that issue alerts regarding repair exceptions that could affect a vehicle's delivery back to the vehicle owner. That allows insurers to proactively address potential repair delays or customer satisfaction issues, according to Audatex.

"By driving timely, proactive communication with insurance companies, collision repair shops and vehicle owners, Audatex Repair Status reduces incoming calls, improves repair cycle time and ultimately increases repair efficiency and vehicle owner customer satisfaction," said Patrick Schmidlin, vice president of product management for Audatex. "A fast quality repair is a win-win outcome for all."
