ASE Declares Automotive Service Professionals Week

June 10, 2013

June 10, 2013—The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has declared this week, June 10–16, as National Automotive Service Professionals Week.

ASE launched National Automotive Service Professional's Week in 2005 to honor the commitment and dedication of collision, mechanical and truck technicians, as well as parts specialists and other industry support professionals, who serve the motoring public.

This is the eighth consecutive year that ASE has supported the recognition week, which is listed in the 2013 Chase's Calendar of Events.

“ASE created National Automotive Service Professionals Week to recognize the men and women who service and maintain the highly complex vehicles upon which we depend so much for our day-to-day transportation,” said Tim Zilke, president and CEO of ASE. “This event acknowledges that skill and dedication, and ASE is proud to help recognize these individuals for their commitment to their customers, their craft and the American economy.”

ASE was established in 1972 to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the testing and certification of automotive technicians and parts specialists. More than 360,000 ASE-certified professionals currently work in dealerships, independent repair shops, auto parts stores, fleets and schools throughout the country.
