July 17, 2012—Automotive parts distributor LKQ Corp. on Tuesday announced the expansion of its Promise of Protection shop indemnification initiative.
LKQ’s Promise of Protection, which initially launched in April, is a program that indemnifies licensed auto repair shops against injury or damage caused by a defective replacement product distributed by the company. It is meant to offer peace of mind to shop owners and insurance professionals that use the company’s aftermarket replacement parts.
Through expansion of the program, LKQ said it will now provide indemnification protection for all auto and light truck parts it distributes. The announcement is effective immediately.
"We set a new industry standard with the introduction of our Promise of Protection program a few months ago. Now our expanded Promise of Protection goes to a completely new level by offering product liability indemnification on a much broader range of our parts, including OEM recycled," said Rob Wagman, president and CEO of LKQ. "Without question, this expansion of our Promise of Protection program reinforces our commitment to leading the industry in quality assurance on these parts. We are committed to providing only safe, quality products that are cost effective, environmentally-conscious, and which now come with full protection for our customers."
