Aug. 27, 2012—PPG Industries recently announced that Michael McGarry will join the company’s executive committee as executive vice president.

McGarry, who will maintain his responsibilities as PPG’s senior vice president of commodity chemicals, will assume duties of the new role Sept. 1.

PPG said McGarry will now have leadership responsibility for the company’s global aerospace products and automotive refinish businesses. He will be based out of PPG’s global headquarters in Pittsburgh.

PPG also announced that its current executive vice president Pierre-Marie De Leener will leave the company Oct. 31. De Leener has been responsible for PPG’s global automotive refinish, aerospace products, and protective and marine coatings businesses since 2008.

“…Pierre-Marie has continued to provide strong guidance to several PPG businesses and has strengthened the foundation for operational excellence and profitable growth in the Latin America region,” said Charles Bunch, chairman and CEO of PPG. “I thank him for his many contributions to PPG’s success and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
