3M Makes Six Figure In-Kind Donation to Education Foundation

Dec. 21, 2012

Dec. 21, 2012—3M has donated its Hookit II set to 19 secondary and post-secondary school collision repair programs through the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

3M’s in-kind donation is valued at $160,000.

Brandon Eckenrode, director of development for the Education Foundation, said the product donation will ease school collision department budgets by providing students with opportunities to work with the newest supplies. According to surveys the organization receives from instructors, school collision repair programs have average annual operating budgets of only $6,000.

“Through our industry supporters, such as 3M, we are able to assist instructors with this minimal budgetary amount to instruct proper collision repair training to the future professionals of the industry,” Eckenrode said. “3M has lead the way in providing product donations to collision school programs the past several years and their commitment to the industry.”

“3M is honored and pleased to continue our support of the Collision Repair Education Foundation and the many career and technical schools around the country,” said Dale Ross, marketing manager for 3M. “We are keenly aware that providing state of the art products to these students during their education is vital to ensuring their future and the future of our industry.”
