July 24, 2012—Audatex North America Inc. is adding Porsche to the list of global automobile manufacturers supported by its AudaVIN vehicle identification system.
Audatex said AudaVIN uses vehicle identification number (VIN) data to give insurance claim representatives, appraisers and collision repair estimators vehicle-specific information recorded by manufacturers on the production line The system provides exterior paint, interior trim, make, model, edition, production date, standard equipment, factory-installed options, and engine and transmission details.
"Extending our vehicle coverage with the addition of a market leader such as Porsche marks a major milestone for AudaVIN, which gives our insurance and collision repair partners a stronger competitive edge by making for a faster, more efficient claims settlement process," said Coleman Conroy, vice president of strategic accounts for Audatex. AudaVIN currently supports more than 25 automotive brands globally, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Mini, Smart, Volkswagen, Volvo and Audi. Audatex said additional OEM partners will be added later this year.
