Jan. 10, 2012

Jan. 10, 2012—Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes’ next A-Plus University EcoLean Level 1 workshop will be held March 13-14 at the Double Tree Hotel in Oak Brook, Ill., near Chicago, the company announced Tuesday.

Sherwin-Williams said its EcoLean Level 1 workshops are designed to educate attendees about maximizing profitability by improving productivity and eliminating waste throughout their facilities. The program is offered to collision center owners and dealer managers throughout the United States and Canada.

“We aim to give our EcoLean 1 workshop attendees an extensive and comprehensive look of how they can build a lean culture in their shop from the ground up,” said Troy Neuerburg, manager of marketing business services for Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes. “This curriculum was developed specifically with collision shop operators in mind. Through it they will learn practical processes and useful tips on lean production’s application in collision repair, and methods to make their collision shops more efficient, productive and subsequently more profitable.”

Neuerburg said the program also educates shop owners on how environmentally sound business decisions go hand-in-hand with the reduction of excessive and duplicative procedures and environmental waste.

The EcoLean 1 workshop curriculum includes the following:

• The principles of reducing environmental waste
• The history of lean production and its practical application in collision repair
• Methods of making collision facilities more efficient and consistent
• How to build a lean culture from the ground up

“Attendees will leave the two-day event with tangible tools to immediately increase the quality and production output of their businesses,” Neuerburg said.
