Mitchell integrates special materials repair data with TechAdvisor

Sept. 27, 2011

Sept. 27, 2011—Mitchell International Inc. on Tuesday announced the integration of its Special Materials Quick Reference Guide into the RepairCenter TechAdvisor software product.

The integration simplifies the structural identification process for technicians by presenting special materials data in a format that remains consistent across the different OEMs, according to Mitchell.

"Instant access to the Special Materials Quick Reference Guide via RepairCenter represents the first time that special materials specifications are available from multiple manufacturers in a consistent, user-friendly format from a single repair shop solution," said Jason Bertellotti, vice president of repair solutions for Mitchell. "This enhancement is just one example of Mitchell's ongoing commitment to optimizing the collision repair process. We continue to invest in TechAdvisor and find new ways to leverage Mitchell's collision expertise to augment the OEM data and create a truly unique value proposition for the collision repair industry."

TechAdvisor's Special Materials Quick Reference Guide helps identify and color-code special materials—such as high-strength steel and aluminum—consistently across all manufacturers. Color codes indicate the composition of parts, which helps technicians perform the correct repair procedures and helps estimators determine whether the parts can be repaired or replaced, according to Mitchell.
