New York state bill aims to stop operations at unlicensed shops

September 16, 2010—The New York state congress proposed a bill that makes it illegal for unlicensed body shops to buy professional auto refinishes.
The bill also prevents suppliers from selling “for professional use only” paints to repair shops that do not have the proper license. The purpose of the bill, according to the bill summary, is to avoid shops using hazardous materials and to stop illegal shop operations.
