Major insurers commit to Recycled Rides program

July 5, 2011

July 5, 2011 — The National Auto Body Council (NABC) on Tuesday recognized 15 major insurance companies for their participation in this year’s ongoing Recycled Rides program.

“We are grateful that many insurers have returned to participate again this year, with some even increasing their commitments above and beyond last year,” said Recycled Rides vehicle procurement director Bill Mayer, of Insurance Auto Auctions. “It’s a wonderful show of support for the local communities our industry serves. We also want to welcome Safeco and Hanover to the program and thank them for their commitment.”

The Recycled Rides initiative, in its fifth year, provides donated vehicles to families and service organizations in need. The NABC thanked the following insurers for vehicle donations:

• Allstate
• American Family
• California Casualty
• Esurance
• Farmers
• Hanover Group
• Hertz
• Met Life
• Nationwide
• Progressive
• Safeco
• State Farm
• Travelers

The NABC also thanked the AAA Auto Club of Michigan, AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah, and 1‐800 Charity Cars for their donations.

The NABC hopes to deliver 150 reconditioned vehicles this year. For more information on the program, go to
