Auto industry sponsors help provide 1,000 student technician uniforms

July 28, 2011

July 28, 2011 — Auto industry companies are stepping up to the plate to provide free uniforms for student technicians this fall.

Companies such as Bar’s Products, CARSTAR, Colormatch, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Ford Motor Company, I-CAR and Panasonic participated in the student technician shirt project, which provided 1,000 Cintas technician shirts to secondary and post-secondary collision students through the Collision Repair Education Foundation. It also helped raise $14,000 for the Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign fund that helps provide student scholarships, school grants and the Foundation’s Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant.

Cintas Corporation provided a significant discount on technician shirts and sponsor patches and donated the shipping costs of the complete shirts.

The shirts will be distributed to schools who apply for the Education Foundation’s 2011 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant, and those students attending NACE and SEMA.

“To date, the education foundation has been able to provide nearly 5,000 Cintas technician uniforms to collision students nationwide through the support of the shirt sponsors,” Education Foundation Executive Scott Kruger commented in a press release_notes. “Instructors share stories with us that these uniforms provide their collision students with a new level of respect around the school and other departments are jealous of the support that the collision program receives.”
