SCRS to host shop efficiency class

April 6, 2011

April 6, 2011 — The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) announced Wednesday that it plans to co-host a course on lean strategies with the Florida Auto Collision Alliance (FACA).

The class, called Improving Workshop Efficiency: Lean Production Applied to Collision Repair, will be offered May 19 in conjunction with FACA’s first-ever statewide meeting. The course will focus on continuous improvement and the use of efficient production strategies that eliminate waste and boost customer satisfaction and profitability.

Steve Feltovich, manager of business consulting services for Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp., will teach the course.

“Business improvement in our uncertain economy requires a different focus and approach," he said. "Now is the right time to redesign your business model by utilizing the powerful principles of lean production. Lean collision repair shops are able to reduce internal costs, and raise their level of output quality while gaining a competitive advantage in their markets.”

Registration for the course is $225 for SCRS and FACA members and $295 for non-members. The course and the FACA meeting and expo will take place at the Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Resort in Orlando, Fla.
