July 14, 2011—Organizers of Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) announced on Thursday that registrations for expo-only and conference attendees are reaching near-record numbers.
ASRW’s overall registration is tracking 163 percent higher, and registration for conference attendees is tracking 378 percent higher compared to this time last year. Event organizers attribute the growth to ASRW's new location in Orlando, Fla.
"We responded to the industry earlier this year in relocating ASRW to the East Coast, and the industry is, in turn, responding favorably to these changes," said Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. "While we do expect these percentages to even out somewhat over the coming weeks, it's incredibly exciting to see such an increase. We are thankful that automotive service and repair professionals, and those who serve them, are demonstrating their support so dramatically. With this influx in registrations and the show floor continuing to fill up, ASRW will grow this year, and it's going to be a great event."
ASRW, comprised of the NACE and CARS events, is scheduled for Oct. 5-8 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
