CAA names new 2012 president

Feb. 28, 2012

Feb. 28, 2012—The California Autobody Association (CAA) recently elected Dave Picton, owner of G&R Body and Paint in Sacramento, Calif., to serve as the association’s president during its 2012 fiscal year.

Picton has been a member of the CAA for 12 years. As president, the CAA said Picton will immediately focus on the following initiatives:

• Proactively reach out to auto body shops throughout California to encourage them to join the association
• Increase the number and quality of benefits that are available to association members
• Educate the driving public on their rights and options when they are involved in a collision
• Promote fairness and transparency in the legislative process to ensure that member shops and the driving public are aware of their options so they can easily make decisions that are best for their situations

"I am looking forward to being president and leading the CAA this year,” Picton said. "We have many opportunities in 2012 to positively impact our member shops, the driving public, and the overall industry, and I will aggressively pursue these goals across a number of fronts throughout the year."

"We are extremely excited to have Dave as the president of our association," said Dave McClune, executive director of the CAA. "His industry experience, dedication to the growth and success of our membership, and commitment to furthering our legislative agenda make him the prefect president for the association at this time in its life."

The CAA is a nonprofit trade association comprised of more than 1,000 businesses in the collision repair industry. The organization is focused on enabling the auto body industry to prosper by its helping members produce quality repairs at fair prices.
