AkzoNobel awards top growth shops

October 12, 2010—AkzoNobel announced its Sikkens Acoat selected shops for 2010 at its 17th annual conference in Chicago.

The Acoat program is one of the longest running business service programs in the aftermarket sector, according to an AkzoNobel press release_notes. The shops were recognized in three areas: growth, pride and business of the year.

The Growth awards went to:
• Rusty Eck Ford – Wichita, Kan.;
• Autocraft Downtown – Wichita, Kan.;
• Collision Plus Inc. – O’Fallon, Ill.;
• Brandywine Coachworks – West Chester, Pa.;
• Tony’s Body Shop – Oxnard, Calif.;
• Ellis & Salazar Delta Body & Frame – Austin, Texas;
• A1 Body & Glass – Boca Raton, Fla.;
• A1 Body & Glass – Margate, Fla.;
• Moody’s Collision Center – Portland, Maine;
• Collision Plus Inc. – Glen Carbon, Ill.

The Pride Award went to Holmes Body Shop in Pasadena, Calif.; and Park Place Bodyworks in Dallas.

The Business of the Year Award went to Moody’s Collision Centers in Portland, Maine.

“Collectively our Acoat selected members have done well in a challenging economy,” said Mike Sillay, services manager for AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Americas. “The businesses that were recognized for their superlative performance showed an average 27.5 percent growth over the prior 12 month period. The ability of these businesses to thrive in such a difficult environment is a testament to their business prowess.”
