AutoZone recognizes top automotive suppliers

April 18, 2012—AutoZone Inc., a distributor of automotive parts and accessories, recently recognized several automotive vendors with awards during the 2012 AutoZone Vendor Summit in Memphis, Tenn.

AutoZone recognized the following companies as “Vendors of the Year”:

• GRI Engineering Development
• Bosch Brake Components

"GRI and Bosch are leading suppliers who worked together and with AutoZone to innovate and improve Duralast Gold brake pads," said Bill Rhodes, chairman, president and CEO of AutoZone.

AutoZone also recognized the following suppliers with its “Extra Miler” award:

• Lucas Oil Products Inc.
• Marklan Group Inc.
• Spectra Premium Industries
• Tenneco Inc.
• Gabriel Ride Control
• East Penn Manufacturing

"The Extra Miler award recognizes those suppliers who have demonstrated above and beyond efforts for AutoZone and our customers,” said Mark Finestone, senior vice president of merchandising for AutoZone. "These Extra Miler suppliers set the standard for their innovative thinking, category management skills, quality merchandise and commitment with AutoZone to grow the business together."

AutoZone also presented its “Extra Miler” award to two individuals for their commitment to the automotive aftermarket government relations efforts:

• Jack Vollbrecht of Remy International Inc.
• Michael Klein of IDQ USA

In addition, AutoZone presented its “What It Takes To Do The Job Right” award to six vendors for their efforts to ensure customers have the right parts and information to complete repairs:

• Meguiar's Inc.
• Import Products Co. Inc.
• Cequent Consumer Products Inc.
• Accessories Marketing Inc.
• General Cable Industries Inc.
• Qualis Automotive
