October 6, 2010—Mitchell International has donated software to the I-CAR Education Foundation in their new partnership to help collision repair schools.
Mitchell donated its RepairCenter Estimating and TechAdvisor OEM repair software for the foundation’s unlimited use in support of the new Collision Repair Schools Solutions survey program, according to a Mitchell press release_notes. All secondary and post-secondary technical schools that offer a collision repair program and complete the survey will receive the software.
The foundation will use the survey results to track enrollment, placement, personnel, facilities and equipment. Schools will have to complete the annual survey to renew their subscription to the software. Mitchell and I-CAR estimate the value of the software to be around $25,000 per school.
Mitchell has also donated $10,000 to the Collision Repair Education Fund and donated reconditioned laptops to schools.
“Mitchell’s gift is both extremely generous and the catalyst to creating real change for the better within our collision repair schools,” said Scott Kruger, executive director of the education foundation. “Both of our organizations are very excited to see how students will benefit from having this information in hand and the creative ways educators will use the systems in the classroom and on the shop floor.”
