Insurance Auto Auctions taps Audatex as NMVTIS reporting provider

Jan. 13, 2010

Audatex North America Inc. announced an agreement Tuesday with salvage auto auction company Insurance Auto Auctions Inc. (IAA) to become its vendor for National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMTIS) reporting.
Federal NMTIS rules require that reporting entities—insurers, salvage yards, salvage pools and vehicle shredders—report salvage and total loss vehicles into the NMVTIS database, according to Audatex.
Audatex validates vehicle data provided to it by reporting entities before submitting it to NMVTIS. The San Diego-based company will allow IAA to report NMVTIS data on more than 1 million vehicles each year.
"We have worked with Audatex for over five years on projects related to the salvage industry. Selecting Audatex to be our NMVTIS reporting vendor was a natural extension of our working relationship,” said Tom O’Brien, president of IAA.
