Nov. 20, 2015—NAPA/Martin Senour unveiled two cars and held an autograph session with Ron Capps at the 2015 SEMA Show earlier this month in Las Vegas.
The unveiling/press conference held by NAPA/Martin Senour treated attendees to a viewing of a 1949 Buick custom coupe restored by Chris Carlson Hot Rods and an intensely modified 1964 Ford Thunderbird by Caleb Luce of Luce Customs.
The 1949 Buick featured the Tec/BASE premium refinish system color Granite (PCRS23) of the Martin Senour Rod & Restoration Color Deck on the exterior and Dark Blue Denim (PCRC30) for the engine and wheels. This is Carlson’s third SEMA Show vehicle in NAPA/Martin Senour’s booth.
The 1964 Ford Thunderbird, appropriately named the Dir-T-Bird, featured a modified OEM tri-stage, complete with a midcoat painted in the Vortex premium waterborne refinish system. The restoration of this vehicle was intensive. The vehicle’s frame, floor work, interior, trunk, engine bay, head tunnels, front and rear fascias were all hand-formed steel. The body was widened three inches and functional brake cooling scoops were built. The car was just under 18 feet long and about 3.5 feet tall. A custom paint job with rally stripe wrapping and a fully polished stainless steel exhaust system finished the vehicle off.
NAPA/Martin Senour also hosted a meet and greet autograph session with NHRA Superstar Ron Capps.
