November 1, 2010—I-CAR announced on Monday that it will release its latest course at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The new course, Vehicle Technology and Trends 2011 is an instructor-led course that offers students information on new vehicle designs and innovations, according to an I-CAR press release. The course will include:
• How to recognize new vehicle materials and designs, safety features, park-assist systems, collision-warning systems and alternative fuel systems.
• How to determine repair procedures for plug-in electrics, hybrid high-voltage batteries and pressure-based sensors.
• How to understand the economic climate, new efficiency practices and how government mandates are contributing to rapid changes in vehicle technology.

“The ability to recognize new technology and its implications during the repair process can be key to achieving a safer, more complete repair, and improved operational efficiencies,” said Jeff Peevy, director of field operations for I-CAR. “This course will be beneficial to anyone involved in the repair process.”
