Sept. 29, 2011—The SEMA board of directors on Wednesday announced it approved a motion to decrease the size of its board from 26 to 14 members.
The motion is now being voted on by SEMA’s entire membership. Ballots were sent out to roughly 6,000 voting members in mid-September, according to SEMA.
A smaller group of board members would have more productive discussions and reduce costs, according to SEMA. The organization said the board is hoping to experience higher quality input, analysis, board decisions and guidance.
SEMA urges all qualified member companies to register their vote. SEMA said only the primary contact for each member company is able to cast a vote on behalf of their company.
