Oct. 10, 2014—The Environmental Protection Agency recently released an annual report that shows that the automotive industry has improved fuel economy performance by 25 percent since 2004.

According to the Light-Duty Automotive Technology, Carbon Dioxide Emissions, and Fuel Economy Trends report, gas prices and consumer preferences for trucks are some of the many factors that influence overall fleet fuel economy.

The report, which can be found online, also highlights that consumers are opting for vehicles that possess low carbon dioxide emissions, and that car manufacturers are offering more vehicles with higher MPG rates and lower emissions.
