Allstate: Black out Facebook profile pics to prevent crash deaths

May 19, 2011

May 19, 2011 In a bid to raise awareness of teen crash deaths, Allstate Corp. is asking Facebook users to black out their profile pictures from May 20-27.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) reports that May 20 has been the deadliest day for teens drivers over the past five years, due to warm weather, parties, friends and an ending school year. Allstate set up a Save 11 Facebook page to help shed light on teen crash deaths. Users can visit the Save 11 page, download the black image available there, and replace their profile picture with the black image available on the page.

Visit the Allstate Save 11 page to participate in the blackout campaign: facebook.com/Save11.
